Wave Shade (retractable shade sail)

The Wave Shade® boasts clean, elegant lines, a modern colour palette of 14 desirable shades, and polished marine-grade stainless steel fixings. It is manufactured in New Zealand from the high-performance Soltis Lounge 96 fabric by Serge Ferrari. This fabric is built to be fade-resistant, mildew and mould resistant, fire-resistant and easy to clean. It features high UPF and heat protection.

Wave Shade® by Commercial Shade Sails is stylish, durable, easy to install and easy to maintain. You decide when you’d like the sun to shine and where, and when you want cover. Suitable for outdoor spaces of cafes, restaurants, wineries and hotels, it is equally at home shading retail areas, children’s play areas and pools. Despite its elegant appearance, the Wave Shade® is very durable and will withstand the toughest conditions, including those at oceanfront locations. It comes with a 10-year warranty on the fabric and all components.

Installation and operation

Commercial Shade Sails will install in most parts of Australia and also support you for DIY installation. Installing it yourself is very simple, and just requires attachment to a strong permanent structure such as timber beams, posts or other building exteriors. Contact us for full DIY support.

You have a choice of two operation modes, integrated cord or pole-retraction, both of them very user-friendly.

The integrated cord option works like a blind – a sturdy polyester braid on a pulley extends the blind when pulled in one direction and retracts when pulled the other way.

The aluminium pole option hooks onto a stainless steel cleat on the front spar of the Wave Shade®, allowing you to easily manually retract or extend the sail.

Both options allow you to lock off the sail at any chosen mid-point.
